Erica Armah Bra-Bulu Tandoh, better known as DJ Switch, is a young disc jockey from Ghana. She is highly talented and versatile, capable of singing, rapping, dancing, and hosting TV shows. Currently, she is the host of the Talented Kidz program on TV3. In addition to her DJ skills, she writes poetry, acts, and gives motivational speeches.

Early Life

DJ Switch, born on December 12, 2007, is the second of five children and the only girl in her family. She is from Dadieso in the Western North Region of Ghana and studies at Talented Royals International School in Weija, Accra. Her career began at the young age of seven. She chose the name DJ Switch because she believes she has the ability to change people's moods from sad to happy.

Career Achievements

In June 2018, Erica made history as the youngest person to win Ghana's annual DJ award. By 2019, her talent had caught the attention of Jay-Z's entertainment company, Roc Nation, which featured her on their social media for Black History Month. In 2020, she was recognized among the Top 100 child prodigies globally and received the Global Child Prodigy Award in the DJ category. She co-hosted the 12th season of Talented Kidz in 2021. Erica dreams of becoming a gynecologist to improve childbirth experiences for women in her community. She is managed by the American talent agency Buchwald.

In September 2018, she opened the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's annual Goalkeepers event in New York City, performing as the warm-up act for French President Emmanuel Macron. In May 2019, she performed at the NGO Room to Read's gala in New York alongside Wyclef Jean. June 2019 saw her performing at the World Bank Africa Society Symposium in Washington and at the 32nd Ordinary Session of the AU Assembly of Heads of State and Government. She also appeared at the Women Deliver Conference 2019 in Vancouver. On July 29, 2019, Erica became the brand ambassador for BrainWise, a product by the pharmaceutical firm Zutron.

Personal Life

After DJ Switch won the TV3 Talent Kidz in 2017, she frequently stated in interviews that she wanted to use her earnings from events and her DJ Switch Foundation to help the less privileged. In October 2019, she donated 50 desks and 4 sets of tables and chairs to the students and teachers of A.M.E Zion Junior High School in Brafoyaw, Cape Coast, Ghana. The donation was received on behalf of the school by the DCE Hon. Aba Hagan of Abora Asebu Kwanman Kese.
