Kent, whose real name is Khensani Mabaso, was born in Pimville, Soweto, South Africa. He is a talented club DJ, music producer, and entrepreneur. DJ Kent, whose real name is Khensani Mabaso, released his solo debut album in 2007, titled 'Mixing Business with Pleasure Reloaded.' This album marked a significant milestone in his career and solidified his place in the South African music scene. After establishing his unique style of mixing, known as mega mixing, Kent's technique quickly gained popularity and became widely imitated across 12 countries, including Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Botswana, and South Africa.
Beyond his success as a DJ, Kent is also an entrepreneur. He, along with his business partner DJ Euphonik, was inspired to open a clothing store in Braamfontein after observing international fashion trends during their world tours. Additionally, Kent founded his own record label, signing notable artists such as Relo from the renowned Skwatta Camp crew and Diamond Dealer from Bloemfontein.
Throughout his career, DJ Kent has produced several hit songs, earning a reputation as one of South Africa's top music producers. His influence and contributions have left a lasting impact on the industry, cementing his status as a celebrated figure in South African music. At one point, Kent teamed up with Themba Mbongeni Nkosi (Euphonik) and Tumi Mokitlane, forming the group Kentphonik.
