He studied at Siyalakha Christian School before finishing his matric at Fumana High School. His passion for music was evident from a young age, and by the age of 18, he had already started producing music, initially as a hip-hop producer and pianist.
In 2014, Gaba Cannal made his mark in the industry with the release of his EP titled ‘Abundance’, which opened several doors for him. This same year, he founded his own independent record label, Gaba Cannal Music Pty-Ltd, cementing his desire to take full control of his career and creative direction. Over the years, Gaba Cannal’s influence in the Amapiano genre grew, and in 2018, he was featured on Da Kruk’s single ‘Magic’, which went on to be nominated for Best Underground Record of the Year at the South African Music Awards.
