Nicole Fortuin - Biography, Career and Films

Nicole Fortuin, born on April 30, 1992, in South Africa, is recognized as an actress, dancer, and theatre maker. Her notable film credits include starring roles in "Flatland" (2019), "Indemnity" (2021), and "Late Bloomer" (2022). On television, she is celebrated for her performances in series such as "Roer Jou Voete" (2015–2016) and "Alles Malan" (2019–2022).

Early Life and Education

Nicole Fortuin hails from Belhar, Cape Town, and attended Settlers High School. In 2008, at the age of 16, she achieved recognition as a top 4 finalist in e.tv's Shield Teens No Sweat Dance Challenge. She furthered her education by earning a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Performance from the University of Cape Town in 2014.

Career

After graduating from UCT, Nicole Fortuin landed the role of Maryke van Niekerk in the Afrikaans-language SABC 3 series Roer Jou Voete. The following year marked her feature film debut in the American teen film A Cinderella Story: If the Shoe Fits, where she played Georgie, a makeup artist and a Fairy Godmother-like figure to Sofia Carson's character. 

In 2017, Fortuin appeared in the comedy film Van der Merwe, the drama Vaselinetjie, and the second season of Swartwater as Cindy. She then starred alongside Izel Bezuidenhout in the film Flatland directed by Jenna Bass, which premiered at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival and Berlinale. 

In addition to her film roles, Fortuin began portraying Lee-Ann in the kykNET series Alles Malan in 2019. She also appeared in season 2 of Blood & Water on Netflix, as well as in the action film Indemnity and the Showmax film Late Bloomer. Fortuin is set to appear in Kelsey Egan's upcoming film The Fix.
