Oscar Mbongeni Ndlovu, commonly known as Oscar Mbo, is a South African record producer, DJ, and podcaster. He is known for his unique sound, which blends house music with elements of deep house, deep tech, Nu Jazz, broken beat, and lounge music. Oscar gained significant recognition as the founder and star of the popular entertainment podcast, “The Ashmed Hour” show, where he showcases music and culture, particularly within the house music genre.

Early Life and Career

Oscar Mbo was born in Pretoria and raised in Kriel, a town in Mpumalanga west of Witbank, where he spent much of his childhood. His musical career began gaining momentum in September 2019 with the release of his debut EP, "Life & Love." This was followed in November 2019 by his debut album "Golden Power." Apart from his solo work, Oscar is also a member of the trio group Golden Boys Entertainment.

Oscar has made notable appearances on various media platforms, including Kaya FM's "Platinum Friday" with T-Bose, Metro FM, TransAfrica Radio, and the Vuzu music television show "Hit Refresh." His popularity has earned him an endorsement from the global brand Diesel.

In 2019, Oscar embarked on his first international tour, performing at the renowned DJOON Club in Paris for DJ Shimza's "One Man Show," as well as in Mozambique. He has also headlined festivals like the "House Musiq Festival" in Eswatini and the "Wololo Music Festival" in Witbank.

In October 2020, Oscar released his second studio album, "For The Groovists," which earned him a nomination at the 27th South African Music Awards for Best Dance Album. The album features prominent amapiano producer Kabza De Small.

In February 2021, Oscar performed at the "Blizz Lounge" in Pretoria, sharing the stage with singer Brian Temba. Later, in July 2021, he released his EP "Defenders of House”.
