Wema Sepetu, also known as Sapenga, was born on September 28, 1988, and comes from the diplomatic family of the late Abraham Sepetu. She is the youngest of four children. Following this, she appeared in numerous films such as "Family Tears," "Red Valentine," and "White Maria," establishing herself as one of Tanzania's most popular and sought-after actresses. In 2011, Wema produced the movie "Superstar," which detailed her tumultuous love life with musician Diamond Platnumz. Although planned for a 2015 release, the film faced delays and was eventually premiered during Wema's 30th birthday celebrations, becoming a must-watch movie.
From 2015 to 2016, Wema appeared in films such as "Family," "Mapenzi Yamerogwa," and "Chungu Cha Tatu." In 2017, she made a significant comeback with her film "Heaven Sent," in which she starred alongside Salim Ahmed (Gabo). The movie premiered at Century Cinemax Mlimani City in Dar es Salaam and was sold through her mobile application, Wema App. "Heaven Sent" received seven nominations at the 2018 Sinema Zetu International Film Festival Awards, including Best Actress and Best Feature Film. Wema won the Best Actress award, and the movie won the People's Choice award.
